The joke is so obvious and blunt I'm sure there must be something I'm not getting. I watched this several times and I am still dumbfounded.

This seems to mock experimental films rather than actually being one, the whole explaining a pointless dream thing. It seemed like it was supposed to be funny but it really wasn't. The animation was entertaining though.
